What was the last application you downloaded on your mobile phone? It could be a messaging tool, an engaging social media platform, or even a GPS navigator. Whatever it might have been, we acknowledge that mobile apps do add considerable value to our lives…but at what cost? The truth is, while these apps may provide convenience, they can also infringe on our privacy by collecting (and sometimes selling) extensive data on us.
Therefore, consider the privacy and convenience tradeoff you are bargaining for before downloading or using an app or web-based service. And always remember, if you did not pay for the product, you are the product!
